That's the 5.5L twin turbo M157 (same engine as my car, and truth be told, it's the engine I would want in that car, not the V12.

V12 is smoother. Some people prefer the muscle and sound of the V8, though. The performance isn’t that different.

I think at one point, due to gearing and purpose, the v8 was quicker. The v12 was set up so you could drop the throttle on the highway and hit warp speed like a boss, as the ultimate cruiser. the v8 was set up to be faster off the line. I could be mistaken though.
